Warriors limp into second round with little time to recover

LOS ANGELES -- Stephen Curry emerged from the Golden State Warriors'locker room an hour after his team finally closed out the gutty LA Clippers 129-110 in Game 6 of a Western Conference first-round series that took more out of the defending champions than anyone expected.

Curry walked briskly past Warriors general manager Bob Myers, but his limp from a sprained right ankle in the first quarter was obvious.
"That's been our season," Myers said with a shrug.

A half-hour earlier, shooting guard Klay Thompson had left Staples Center with an even more pronounced limp after spraining his right ankle in the third quarter. Earlier this series, Golden State lost starting center DeMarcus Cousinsindefinitely to a torn quadriceps.
Both Curry and Thompson said they'd be fine. But with fewer than 40 hours until Game 1 of the conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets on Sunday afternoon, there's little time to heal into anything close to whole.
This is the consequence of blowing the 31-point lead against the Clippers in Game 2 of this series and failing to close them out at home in Game 5 on Wednesday. Yes, the Clippers had something to do with each of those games, too. But if the ankle injuries to Curry and Thompson or extra energy expended in this series end up with real consequences in the next round, all history will remember is Golden State's penchant for uneven performances as the Warriors battle their own complacency and hubris.
That's been a constant battle for them the past two seasons. Each season feels longer until the playoffs finally begin. The slog of the regular season dulls the senses.
"The tenure of our run is challenging mentally and physically," assistant coach Bruce Fraser said. "I think everyone is a little tired. We've been at this so long. But I think the playoffs motivates us.
"And the Clippers got our attention. They're a really impressive team."
But will this series end up being the challenge that sharpens the Warriors into championship form as they prepare to face what many believe is the team that has the best chance of dethroning them?
No team has played the Warriors tougher in recent years than the Rockets. Including playoffs, Houston is 8-6 against them over the past two seasons, one of just three teams to have a winning record against Golden State. This season, the Rockets won three of their four games with Golden State.
Or will the extra mileage the Warriors accrued and dings they absorbed be the body blows that finally weaken them?
"They brought out our best," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said of the Clippers. "One of the things that happens during the playoffs is you can sharpen your game against an opponent that forces you to do so. And so that's what I saw.
"Getting through it now, it's easy to say, 'Yeah, that was good for us.' It didn't feel good for us while it was happening. But they brought out the best in us and now we'll move on."
It was fitting, in a way, that Kevin Durant and Draymond Green came together to carry the Warriors to this win in Game 6. Durant had 50 points on 15-of-26 shooting from the field, becoming the sixth player in NBA playoff history with 45 or more points in consecutive games. Green finished with a triple-double of 16 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and four blocks.
According to Elias Sports Bureau research, the feat of Durant and Green marked only the third time in NBA postseason history that teammates had a 50-point game and a triple-double in the same game. The other instances were both in 1960, by former Philadelphia Warriors Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain and Tom Gola.
The Warriors' season -- and maybe their legacy -- still feels like it'll be defined by the way they responded to the argument between Green and Durant against these same Clippers back on Nov. 12. That argument, which began on the bench, spilled over and escalated in the locker room. It felt like a fracture that could derail this dynasty. It still might prove prophetic.
But on Friday night, the two men seemed as connected as ever on the court.
"It's taken some time, but they're fine," Fraser said of the relationship between the two men. "They may not be what they were, but they're fine."
Fine enough to play together and win together, at least.
"They just love playing basketball and they want to win," Myers said. "They've been good for a while now.
"You do that when you have to, but also you move through it to get to a place where you are connected. Because it feels good to go through something together and come out the other side."
Twice this season, the Clippers have been the team that pushed Golden State into a gut check. Twice, the Warriors have come out the other side limping, but still standing.
"Honestly, this six games felt like it was two months in terms of all the adjustments and the emotional roller coaster," Curry said. "It tested us. They played amazing. Really made us have to raise our level of play."

This type of hernia is more in females.Here the abdominal contents pass through the femoral canal which is seen just below the junction between the thigh and lower abdominal wall(Inside the femoral triangle).The contents pass downwards and comes out through saphenous opening in the thigh and forms a swelling under the skin.

c) Umbilical hernia:

This is common in children.The umbilicus is the weaker part of the abdomen.The contents of the abdomen may protrude as a bulb like swelling while crying and defecating.

d) Incisional hernia:

These hernias are seen in operated sites. Due to improper suturing or sepsis the operated site becomes weak resulting in hernia.
   
e) Epigastric hernia:

Here the hearniation occures in the epigastrium. It is a rare type.

f) Lumbar hernia:

Here the hernia appear in the lumbar area on either side of the lumbar spine(in the lumbar triangle).This is also a rare type.

g) Obturator hernia:

This is a rare type of hernia. Here the contents pass through obturator foramen in the pelvic bone.


Complications of hernia:--

1) Strangulation:

If the hernial orifice is narrow the abdominal contents may not go back easily, and later the blood flow to the herniated tissues may be blocked due to constricition.This can cause death of protruded intestine.

2) Intestinal obstruction:

This occures when the whole portion of the intestine is protruded in to the hernial sac. The narrow hernial orifice will block the passage of bowels.

3) Infection and peritonitis:

If there is strangulation with death of a portion of intestine there will be spread of infection to the abdomen resulting in peritonitis.

Treatment of hernia:--

Initial treatment: In the initial stages of hernia the following steps may be useful

1) Use of hernia belt:

Special types of hernia belts are available for each type of heania.This will prevent the protrusion and will reduce pain.

2) Constipation,recurrent cough,urinary obstruction ect should be treated.

3) Fat reduction will increase the strength of abdominal wall.

4) Abdominal exercises to increase the muscle tone.

5) Take plenty of leafy vegetables, fruits and fibrous diet for easy bowel movements.

6) Try other systems like Homoeopathy,Herbal medicine and ect

If no relief by the above steps consult a general surgeon for surgical management.

Surgical treatment.

I should add that this condition extended through both the larger and the smaller brain, the cerebrum and cerebellum, but was not so marked in the medulla or commencing portion of the spinal cord.

The muscles themselves, by this time, are also failing in power; they respond more feebly than is natural to the nervous stimulus; they, too, are coming under the depressing influence of the paralyzing agent, their structure is temporarily deranged, and their contractile power reduced.










This modification of the animal functions under alcohol, marks the second degree of its action. In young subjects, there is now, usually, vomiting with faintness, followed by gradual relief from the burden of the poison.

Finally, the action of the alcohol still extending, the superior brain centres are overpowered; the senses are beclouded, the voluntary muscular prostration is perfected, sensibility is lost, and the body lies a mere log, dead by all but one-fourth, on which alone its life hangs. The heart still remains true to its duty, and while it just lives it feeds the breathing power. And so the circulation and the respiration, in the otherwise inert mass, keeps the mass within the bare domain of life until the poison begins to pass away and the nervous centres to revive again. It is happy for the inebriate that, as a rule, the brain fails so long before the heart that he has neither the power nor the sense to continue his process of destruction up to the act of death of his circulation. Therefore he lives to die another day.

To make the glasses case, you will need the following simple materials:  a square of craft foam, plastic or large blunt needles, lanyard lace or thick yarn.  Cut two rectangles from the foam, each 3-1/2 inches (9 cm.) by 6 inches (15 cm.).  With a hole punch, make holes on three sides of each rectangle, leaving one short side unpunched.  Make the holes 1/2 inch apart and allow at least 1/4 inch between the hole and the edge of the craft foam.  The holes need to line up so that the two pieces can be laced together.  If you are preparing the craft for small children, you should make the holes yourself.  Otherwise, the crafters can do this step if you have enough pairs of hole punches.

At this point the crafters can cut decorative shapes from other colors of craft foam, or you can buy sets of ready-cut foam shapes.  If you are doing the craft at a special event, like vacation Bible school, choose shapes that echo the theme of the event.  For instance, if the Bible school or camp has a cowboy theme, find shapes that fit well, such as boots, cowboy hats, and stars.  Let the kids choose the shapes they like and glue on as desired.  You might also like to provide beads or sequins to glue on as well, especially if the crafters are a little older.

Kiranpreet (Kiran) Kaur, D.D.S., who received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious New York University, leads the new practice. Dr. Kaur and her team will provide dental services ranging from dentures, dental crowns and bridges, Invisalign, root canals, extractions and preventive care, to general dentistry and restoration.
